There are state and federal laws that every company must comply with—even those with a single employee—and with these come posters that must be displayed for all employees to see. Companies can choose to print out individual posters, and you can access these posters to print out for free via our website link:
However, most companies would require multiple posters—the federal has 6-8 required individual posters, and there are 8-10 for states. These free posters can take up a lot of space and quickly become wrinkled and worn.
As an alternate option, Precision offers laminated federal and state compliance posters that include all the individual posters condensed into one larger poster. Each poster is approximately 2 ft. x 2 ft. in size, for a neat and attractive option that holds up well
A single state (all 50 states are available) or federal laminated poster is $32.95, while purchasing both together is $54.95. Prices include tax and delivery. And if you have employees that do not speak English, you can also purchase posters in Spanish.
“Precision has always strived to provide cost-effective solutions for compliance requirements,” says Leslie Day, Director of HR Consulting Services.
In addition to offering these multi-posters at a reasonable price, Precision is also a resource for clients to check if they are up-to-date with their posters. Posters only need to be replaced if there is a law that has changed, not just because it is a new year. Some poster companies mislead customers into believing they need new posters when they really do not.
Each state is unique. Many states have posters that are only needed if the company has 15 employees. However, Day notes that Illinois just passed a new law effective January 2015 that applies to all companies, regarding pregnancy and childbirth protection for employees. “Every Illinois company needs to post this new law poster, even if you have only one employee,” she says.
And some industry-specific companies, such as those in the construction or day-labor services, need a poster that is in addition to those included in the laminated posters. These are also identified on Precision’s website (www.precisionpayroll.com/resources/labor-law-posters).
