Starting July 1, Precision Payroll will introduce a new client platform that will provide clients with greater flexibility, capability and response time—upgrading technology to match the high level of service that is the company’s standard.
This move also expands services beyond payroll and integrates them into a full employee management system—giving clients one central tool to manage all aspects of labor, which is both the largest asset and the largest expense for companies.
Implementation will begin July 1, and PPA anticipates an 18-month window to bring all clients over to the new platform.
PPA was a founding partner in developing this proven platform, which has already been implemented successfully by dozens of companies—including a number of PPA clients who agreed to be initial adapters.
Changeover will be relatively seamless, with reporting that is very comparable to what clients currently have. In fact, for clients who report to Precision Payroll via phone, fax or email, nothing will change, other than slight differences with the format of reports.
For clients who submit their data to PPA online, the platform will be enhanced and more robust, but with the same “drivability,” so to speak, of the current system. “The steering will still be on the left side and the gear box on the consul,” says Tom Sodeika, Precision Payroll’s CEO, continuing the driving analogy.
Enhanced Features & Benefits
In addition to offering a number of new and enhanced features (see sidebar overview above), Sodeika describes the overall benefit as “scalable sophistication”—meaning that this platform allows Precision Payroll to best serve companies as they grow.
“This platform increases our capability to provide a service that grows and flexes with the evolving needs and demands of each client,” he says.
HR Component a Standout
One robust additional component of this new platform is HR information systems, as it automates a number of HR-related administrative functions, including workflows for new hires, terminations, benefits enrollment, and more. This complements and supports the strategic planning, policy implementation and execution that Precision Payroll provides, through Director of HR Consulting Services, Leslie Day.
While the new platform offers multiple new options, Sodeika emphasizes that you only pay for what you use. “In today’s environment, in our industry, oftentimes people end up paying for services with features and products built into the cost that they don’t even need,” he notes. “Not with our platform.”
Training and support will be provided to clients as they are switched to the new platform, though most of the changes are really behind-the-scenes. “The integration will streamline a lot of our functions into the current job stream, rather than it being an ancillary function,” he says. “We believe it will improve our internal efficiency, and thus, will translate to a better level of service to our clients. We think they will be just as excited about this as we are.”
